Abstract
Chili plants are one of the national food commodities and have economic value. In this era, farmers still water, apply fertilizer, and monitor manually and conventionally, these tasks require a lot of time and energy, by using manual and traditional methods, what is done becomes less effective and efficient. Research has been carried out to build a microcontroller-based automatic watering, fertilizing and monitoring device for chili plants to simplify the process of watering, fertilizing and monitoring. This research was carried out by utilizing a soil moisture sensor (Moisture Sensor), ultrasonic sensor, RTC module and using the NodeMCU esp32 microcontroller control system as a processor of sensor input information and an intermediary with the database. In this watering and monitoring device, to carry out control using the blynk application which is connected to the NodeMCU esp32 microcontroller. This device control process can be carried out anytime and anywhere when the device is connected to the internet. From the test results, the device is capable of watering, fertilizing and monitoring according to the expected results. The system can water automatically based on the soil moisture sensor. If the humidity is <70%, this tool will water the chili plants automatically, and if the humidity is >80%, this tool will automatically stop. The system can carry out automatic fertilization according to a predetermined schedule, namely once a week and once every 2 weeks. Can display plant soil moisture status, manage fertilization schedules, as well as monitor water and fertilizer levels in reservoirs via the blynk application
