Abstract

Anxiety is an emotional state characterized by feelings of restlessness and worry which is caused by the fact that the elderly usually get older and gradually abandon their social life so that this will trigger a situational crisis. Nursing care for the elderly with anxiety nursing problems at Wisma Bima UPT PSTW Magetan is nursing care carried out using the nursing process method. The results of the client's assessment show attitudes or body responses such as restlessness, anxiety, difficulty concentrating, tremors, heart palpitations and sweaty palms. The client looks tense and nervous when spoken to and the client experiences difficulty sleeping and frequently wakes up at night, BP 130/80 mmHg, pulse 95 x/minute and the results of the Zung Self Rating Anxiety Scale questionnaire showed a score of 46 which means the client experiences anxiety currently. The actions taken are in accordance with the Indonesian Nursing Intervention Standards (SIKI), namely by carrying out anxiety reduction and relaxation therapy in the form of music therapy. So that the evaluation data obtained is that the client appears to be concentrating, does not think about the past, has no tremors, appears calm and not restless, sleep patterns improve, anxiety level score is reduced to 31, BP 120/70mmHg, pulse 84x/minute. This nursing care is expected to be able to reduce anxiety problems, especially in the elderly by carrying out nursing actions, namely anxiety reduction and music therapy.
