Abstract

ABSTRACT NURSING CARE FOR THE ELDERLY WITH ALVI ELIMINATION DISORDER WITH CONSTIPATION NURSING PROBLEMS (Case Study at UPT PSTW Magetan Regency) By: Rahmatul Octaviani NIM : 21613419 The aging process is a natural process that causes a decline in biological or physical functions, including in the digestive system, as a result of which constipation problems often occur in the elderly. Constipation is defined as a lack of defecation in 2 times per week characterized by straining to pass hard stools. This case study aims to provide nursing care to the elderly with alvi elimination disorder with constipation nursing problems by applying education to increase fiber intake. Nursing Care for the Elderly with Alvi Elimination Disorder With Constipation Nursing Problems at UPT PSTW Magetan lasted for 5 days on February 8-12, 2024. The method used is through the nursing process approach. The results of the assessment obtained data from the client Mr. T, from Ponorogo, 70 years old, said that the stomach felt full, hard and uncomfortable because it had been 4 days without defecation, from the data obtained emerged a nursing diagnosis of constipation related to insufficient fiber intake. The nursing measures taken are providing warm water after meals, providing high-fiber foods. After nursing actions were taken, the results of the evaluation were obtained that the client was able to defecate with the consistency of soft stools on the 8th day. Nursing Care for the Elderly Alvi Elimination Disorder with Constipation Nursing Problems was resolved by being given intervention in the form of foods high in fruit fiber, namely dragon fruit and papaya, as evidenced by the absence of complaints of prolonged and difficult defecation.
