Abstract

This research explores communication strategies at the Ponorogo District Education Office, with an emphasis on the importance of vertical, horizontal and diagonal communication in increasing organizational effectiveness. This study shows that effective communication is critical to organizational success, improving performance, and overcoming internal and external challenges. This research aims to analyze organizational communication strategies at the Ponorogo District Education Office to improve organizational effectiveness and performance. This research uses a case study type with a qualitative approach, using interview methods, field observations, and documentation to collect valid, reliable, and objective data, and analyze it using the Miles and Huberman data analysis model, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. . This research examines vertical, horizontal and diagonal communication in the Ponorogo Regency Education Office. The findings show that vertical communication between the Head of Service and the Secretary takes place formally and regularly, with flexible methods such as face to face and boldness, but there is room to improve two-way feedback. No significant obstacles were found in vertical communication, although there were obstacles related to differences in time, principles and communication media. Horizontal communication between department heads functions effectively to align goals and resolve conflicts, with the importance of regular communication and discussions to manage differences in goals. Meanwhile, diagonal communication faces challenges in information consistency and coordination between departments. Although communication between employees is carried out both formally and informally, there are difficulties in maintaining consistency and overcoming coordination obstacles. These findings emphasize the need for adaptive and collaborative communication strategies to increase communication effectiveness across levels and departments Keywords : Communication Strategy, Organizational Communication, Communication Effectiveness.
