Abstract

One of the heart diseases that we often encounter in hospitals is ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI). This disease is a total occlusion of the coronary artery that causes a larger area of infarction covering the entire thickness of the myocardium, which is characterized by the presence of ST segment elevation on the ECG results. Anxiety in ACS patients with STEMI in the ICU, can lead to increased blood pressure, respiratory changes, and other physiological changes. The purpose of this case study is to determine the handling of anxiety in ACS patients with STEMI with 5 nursing processes, namely assessment, diagnosis formulation, nursing intervention, nursing implementation and nursing evaluation using non-pharmacological techniques, namely benson relaxation techniques. The method used in this scientific paper is a descriptive method, namely with a qualitative approach to understanding various issues or problems. data can be collected from various sources, such as observations, documents, reports, and interviews. The tools used to collect data are DASS-21 and SOP of benson relaxation technique. The results obtained from case study research for 4x24 hours prove the level of anxiety in patients from moderate (13) to normal (3) and are evidenced by patients performing benson relaxation techniques independently if they feel anxious or restless. Based on this case study research, patients are expected to be able to apply in their daily lives when experiencing anxiety and can make them feel more comfortable.
