Abstract
The Fall Detection System is an innovative solution to speed up assistance, especially for the elderly who are vulnerable to falling accidents. This research aims to develop an Internet of Things (IoT) base that can detect falls and provide notifications automatically to related parties. The system development method includes design, implementation and testing stages. The MPU-6050 sensor is used to detect falling movements, while the WeMos D1 Mini module is used to send notifications via the IoT platform. The test results show that the SPJ being developed is able to detect falls with high accuracy and provide real-time notifications. It is hoped that this system can make a positive contribution in increasing the response to assisting in falls, especially for the elderly. This research also highlights the need to develop technology that can effectively monitor the condition of elderly people, especially in emergency situations such as falls. The results of the research are that the accelerometer and gyroscope sensors in this system are able to differentiate between standing, sitting, sleeping and falling conditions. Notifications sent via Telegram allow information on the condition of the fall to be conveyed quickly to family or authorized parties. In this way, it is hoped that this system can provide more efficient and timely assistance in emergency situations, as well as provide additional protection for elderly people who live alone at home.
