Abstract

ABSTRACT Nur Aini, Khoirunnisa Nabila. Strengthening the character of love for the country through extracurricular activities in the art of reog at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Ponorogo. Thesis. Pancasila and Citizenship Education Study Program, Muhammadiyah University of Ponorogo, Supervisor I Dr. Sulton, M. Si, Supervisor II Dr. Ardhana Januar Mahardhani, M.KP. The challenges in the era of globalization, which causes easy understanding and doctrines from foreign cultures, a weak sense of national identity, which influences Indonesian teenagers. This study aims to: 1) determine the character of love for the homeland of students participating in the reog arts extracurricular program at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Ponorogo. 2) To find out strategies for forming the character of love for the country for participants in extracurricular activities in the art of reog at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Ponorogo. The research method uses qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The data collection used was interviews and documentation. The results of this study are: 1) The description of the student's character of love for their homeland along with the reog arts extracurricular program can be seen through five main aspects: the attitude of preserving, protecting, appreciating, sacrificing and preserving can be seen through various concrete actions and their commitment to traditional arts. 2) The strategy for forming the character of love for the homeland of reog art extracurricular participants is by example, cultivating discipline, habituation, creating a conducive atmosphere, internalization and integration. In forming the character of love for the homeland, teachers can provide directions and examples which are then followed by students. Character education in the learning process in the classroom and outside the classroom is an alternative for instilling the character of love for the homeland in students with flag ceremony activities, the habit of singing. national songs before and after teaching and learning activities at school.
