Abstract

Plastic waste is one of the biggest environmental problems facing the world today. Every year, millions of tonnes of plastic are thrown away and much of it ends up in landfills, rivers and seas, therefore the creation of a plastic hot press machine for making composite boards is made from plastic waste, with the aim of utilizing plastic waste/waste to reduce pollution. environment and creating composite boards that have sales value on the market. In this research, the type of plastic processing is carried out using a thermoforming process with a hot temperature in the mold, namely 200oC and a pressure of 25 bar. The research results show that the hotpress machine components consist of a hydraulic jack, mold, frame, heater and REC 100 temperature control, the electrical power consumption for the hotpress machine is 0.0012 kW. The forces that work on the hotpress machine are the pressing force and holding force from the strength of the M16 nut connection of 8 pieces. The results of the connection strength using the M16 nut and bolt mechanism can withstand the pressure exerted by the hydraulic jack with a tension on each nut of 156.2 Mpa, and the production capacity of the plastic hotpress machine for making composite boards made from plastic waste is 0.444 gr/second .
