English Education Department, Muhammadiyah university of Ponorogo. Advisors: (1) Siti Asiyah, M.Pd, (2) Dr. Diyah Atiek Mustikawati, S.Pd., M.Hum. Keywords: Media for Teaching Listening, Listening Skill, Era 5.0 In the 5.0 era, technological integration has become indispensable in education, especially in language teaching. Among the crucial skills in language learning during this period is listening, because it required continuous training and practice. The teacher plays a pivotal role in developing listening skills, including effectively utilizing media to support teaching. Both teachers and students now incorporate technology into their strategies for teaching and learning, and technology-based media have revolutionized the learning process. The purpose of this study was to identify various forms of media commonly used by English teachers of senior high schools in Ponorogo to teach listening in the 5.0 era, to explain the advantages and disadvantages of media used, and to find out whether the chosen media can improve students' listening skills. In this research, the researcher used a qualitative research design especially desciptive qualitative. Data were collected through interviews and documentation from English teachers in five high schools in the Ponorogo area: SMA N 1 Ponorogo, SMA N 2 Ponorogo, SMA N 3 Ponorogo, SMA Bakti Ponorogo, and SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Ponorogo. The data analysis encompassed data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. Based on the research results, the media used by English teachers at Ponorogo High School to teach listening skills were grouped into several categories. Devices like laptops, mobile phones, and speakers were employed to access learning materials and audio sources. Platforms such as YouTube and podcasts provided various audio-visual content to support listening practice. Additionally, direct audio sources were utilized for listening exercises. Each media type had its own advantages and disadvantages. Each type of media had its own advantages and disadvantages. While the media were easy to use and boosted student participation, they also presented disadvantages, including difficulties in maintaining student attention and susceptibility to technical issues like connection problems. The results of the study indicated that the media could increase student engagement in learning, particularly in vocabulary comprehension and word identification in oral contexts, although the effects varied depending on student motivation and learning context. Diverse evaluations from teachers highlighted the need for continuous adaptation in teaching methods to improve the effectiveness of media use.
