Abstract

Keywords: Pattern of Education, Democratic Values The purpose of this research is to know Pattern of Education in Pondok Pesantren Sulamul Huda and Understanding of Syari to Democracy Values. The development of education that is growing rapidly among the community makes many educational institutions have to make the right way to educational institutions that they have still exist in the eyes of society. One such institution is the boarding school boarding school, along with the development of pesantren era not only study the yellow book, but also study the general science. In this study the author would like to research about Pondok Pesantren Sulamul Huda which apply modern curriculum and salaf curriculum as the pattern of education. In the current situation Pesantren education not only teaches about the science of religion, but also plays an active role in placing democratic values on the young generation today. The method used in this research is qualitative approach. This research data is obtained from two kinds of source, that is from primary data source and secondary data source. Technique of data collecting is done by wawanacara depth method with principal, teacher and representation of santri and then with observation and documentation. The results of this study show that (1) Pondok Pesantren Sulamul Huda uses an education pattern that combines modern curriculum and salaf curriculum, where there is not only general science, but also there is a religious knowledge and knowledge of boarding from salaf curriculum. (2) The understanding of santri on democratic values is quite good, it is proved by the understanding of the santri toward the values of tolerance, gender equality and self-reliant applied in the learning process and the process of santri activity in the lodge.
