Abstract

Abstract This study aims to identify and describe the difficulties of understanding students' mathematical concepts in the online learning process. The research subjects were students of class VIII SMP IT Nurul Izzah by taking 14 students. This research uses descriptive qualitative research method. The data collection technique was taken from the mathematical concept understanding ability test and interviews. Based on the research results in general, the analysis of the difficulty of understanding the concept of learning mathematics in the online learning process on statistical material with the category of high concept understanding ability, 1) students still experience difficulties in mathematical models so that they cannot represent data, 2) students have difficulty distinguishing concepts. on the size of the data spread. The category of ability to understand concepts is moderate, 1) students are still experiencing difficulties in mathematical models so that they cannot represent data, 2) students have difficulty distinguishing concepts on the size of data distribution, 3) students have difficulty relating one concept to another. Difficulties in the category of low concept understanding ability, 1) students still experience difficulties in mathematical models so they cannot represent data, 2) students have difficulty in applying concepts, 3) students still have difficulty relating one concept to another, 4) students have difficulty determining the requirements of the concept of the size of the data distribution, 5) students have difficulty distinguishing examples and non-examples of various data presentations. Constraints that cause students to have difficulty understanding concepts in the online learning process are internet network constraints, obstacles to the inability of students in online learning, and obstacles to interaction with teachers during online learning. Keywords: difficulty learning, ability to understand mathematical concepts Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan kesulitan pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran online. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP IT Nurul Izzah dengan mengambil 14 peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data diambil dari tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis dan wawancara. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian secara umum, analisis kesulitan pemahaman konsep belajar matematika dalam proses pembelajaran online pada materi statisika dengan kategori kemampuan pemahaman konsep tinggi, 1) peserta didik masih alami kesulitan dalam model matematika sehingga belum dapat merepresentasikan data, 2) peserta didik mengalami kesulitan membedakan konsep pada ukuran penyebaran data. Kategori kemampuan pemahaman konsep sedang, 1) peserta didik masih alami kesulitan dalam model matematika sehingga belum dapat merepresentasikan data, 2) peserta didik mengalami kesulitan membedakan konsep pada ukuran penyebaran data, 3) peserta didik mengalami kesulitan mengaitkan satu konsep dengan konsep lainnya. Kesulitan dalam kategori kemampuan pemahaman konsep rendah, 1) peserta didik masih alami kesulitan dalam model matematika sehingga belum dapat merepresentasikan data, 2) peserta didik mengalami kesulitan pada pengaplikasian konsep, 3) peserta didik masih mengalami kesulitan mengaitkan satu konsep dengan konsep lainnya, 4) peserta didik mengalami kesultan menentukan syarat dari konsep ukuran penyebaran data, 5) peserta didik mengalami kesulitan membedakan contoh dan bukan contoh dari macam-macam penyajian data. Kendala yang menyebabkan peserta didik kesulitan memahami konsep dalam proses pembelajaran online adalah kendala jaringan internet, kendala ketidakmampuan peserta didik dalam pembelajaran online, dan kendala interaksi dengan guru selama pembelajaran online.
