Abstract

ABSTRACT (STEREOTYPE ANALYSIS OF METAL HIJABERS ON ONLINE MEDIA DETIK.COM AND CNN INDONESIA EDITION 6 DECEMBER 2021) (Muhammad Firdausi Nuzula) (18240623) This thesis is entitled "STEREOTYPE ANALYSIS OF METAL HIJABERS ON ONLINE MEDIA DETIK.COM AND CNN INDONESIA EDITION 6 DECEMBER 2021". There are several purposes for doing this research. First, this study was conducted to find out how the framing model (the framing of news used by online media Detik.com and CNN Indonesia on the news of Metal Hijabers stereotypes. This study also uses a qualitative methodology with framing analysis as an analytical tool. The framing analysis model used in the study This is the framing model of William A. Gamson. Referring to the focus and objectives of the research, the results of the research can also be concluded as follows: CNN Indonesia frames news about Voice of Baceprot who are often asked by the media about hijab while on tour in Europe because the media considers them or sees them. only in appearance. Detik.com framed the news about the answers of the Voice of Baceprot personnel after several times being asked by the media about her hijab and the guitarist immediately answered on stage during the concert. This research is expected to provide an overview of how the news framing is carried out n by online media in conveying a news. In this case is the news about the Voice Of Baceprot hijab controversy during a European tour on December 6, 2021, using William A. Gamson's framing model analysis such as framing deficits which include metaphors, exemplars, catchphrases, depictions, and visual images, while reasoning devices include roots, appeal principle, and consequences. Although framing fulfills all of these analytical tools, there will be some that are more dominant.
