Abstract

New Student Admission (PPDB) based on the Zoning System or PPDB Zoning is a government policy, especially the Ministry of Education and Culture which aims to overcome the problem of school resource gaps so that there is an even distribution of education quality in Indonesia. The Management Information System (SIM) or PPDB SIM has been used to implement student selection based on the PPDB Zoning concept. However, in its implementation, various complex problems occur which are actually counterproductive to the original purpose of the Zoning PPDB. Various studies have been conducted to evaluate the application of PPDB Zoning and SIM PPDB Zoning, but found unsatisfactory results. Based on a literature search, it is noted that the Decision Support System (DSS) has been used to facilitate the PPDB selection process, but there have been no studies or research that has implemented the DSS for PPDB Zoning. This study aims to apply SPK to student selection based on the PPDB Zoning system at MAN 2 Ponorogo. The method used is the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) created by Saaty. The PPDB Zoning evaluation criteria used were four variables, namely (1) distance of residence, (2) age, (3) academic achievement, (4) non-academic achievement. The results of this study are the ranking of student selection SPK based on the PPDB Zoning System and the SPK web application using the AHP method. This research is expected to contribute in two ways, firstly scientifically by contributing to the application of the SPK for PPDB Zoning using the AHP method and secondly practically providing recommendations to schools in the PPDB Zoning-based student selection process.
