Abstract

ABSTRACT The planning process for the relocation of the State Capital has become a subject of discussion on social media, one of which is Twitter. In this way, social media twitter is set as agenda setting to raise public opinion regarding the planning process for relocating the state capital to East Kalimantan. The results of this study indicate that the existence of agenda setting theory is in accordance with research findings where public opinion on Twitter social media arises because of the agenda setting theory. The purpose of this study is to analyze public opinion based on the agenda setting theory which was obtained from the phenomenon of the IKN transfer planning process on Twitter social media. This research was conducted from March 2022 – May 2022. The research method is descriptive qualitative by using literature studies in the form of literature reviews, theoretical studies, data from news portals on websites such as kompas.com and kompasiana beyond blogging, and social media twitter. The results of data analysis obtained are from the Nvivo 12 Plus application to help with data accuracy. Keywords: Agenda setting The nation's capital Twitter
