Abstract

Background: marriage under the age of 20 years (early marriage) cause a variety of problems one of which on the health of mothers and babies. Objective:this study aims to determine the health of mothers and babies in women who have early marriage. Methods: this descriptive study with a retrospective design was to see the health of mothers and babies who have previously done early marriage. This study was conducted in May to July 2014. Instruments used in the form of a checklist filled out by researchers based on data from respondents directly or through the existing data on Kartu Menuju Sehat (KMS). Assessment of the health of the mother seen during pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period. As for the health of infants seen the baby's condition at birth. Research in Rural Locations Baosan Lor, Baosan Kidul and Gedangan at Ngrayun District. The number of samples taken 42 respondents purposive sampling. Analysis of the data by univariate analysis. Results: maternal health during pregnancy is anemia, dizziness and swelling during pregnancy old. While the elongation occurs during labor delivery time is 15 hours and the presence of bleeding, and the postpartum period in the birth canal infection characterized by fever, pain and itching in the birth canal. infant health in early marriage mostly good, there are only 2 infants born preterm and LBW. Conclusion: this study indicate the presence of maternal health problems during pregnancy, childbirth and post-partum, but most of the good health of the baby, there are only 2 babies were born premature and LBW. However, efforts remain to be done in order of diminishing numbers of early marriage, with the collaboration of relevant agencies.
