Key Words: Writing skill, True or False Strategy Based on problems of the Study the researcher got some problems in teaching writing at the MTs Ma’arif 03 Sudimoro such as the students do not havehigh motivation in learning process and the students’ score in writingis low.The statement of problems of this research are: 1).Does True or False Strategy improve students’ writing skill at ninth grade of MTs Ma’arif 03 Sudimoro Pacitan in the academic year of 2013/2014; and2).How does True or False strategy improve students’ writing skill at ninth grade of MTs Ma’arif 03 SudimoroPacitanin the academic year of 2013/2014.The purposes of the study of this research are: 1).To know whether True or False strategy improve students’ writing skill at ninth grade of MTs Ma’arif 03 Sudimoro Pacitan in the academic year of 2013/2014; 2). To describe True or False strategy to improve students’ writing skill at ninth grade of MTs Ma’arif 03 Sudimoro Pacitan in the academic year of 2013/2014. This research used action research. The subject of the research was the students of the ninth grade class B of MTs Ma’arif 03 Sudimoro Pacitan in the 2013/2014 academic year, which is consisted of 18 students. The research was started on August 30, 2013 until September 7, 2013. This Classroom Action Research was conducted in two cycles. The researcher used three research instruments. They were: observation check list, questionnaire, and test. Based on the result of this research, the implementation of True or False strategy improve students’ writing skill at the ninth of MTs Ma’arif 03 Sudimoro in the 2013/2014 academic year. It was seen from the improvement of students’ percentage from cycle I to cycle II. The students’ percentage who reached KKM in Cycle I was 33.33% up to 100% in cycle II.The questionnaire result showed that the students were interested in this technique. It was seen from the percentage of the questionnaire I was 50.98% and the second questionnaire II was 85.96%. The observation check list result showed that the students become active during teaching learning process. It was seen from the percentage of the first observation check list participation was 56.94%, attention was 59.72%, enjoyment was 55.55% in cycle I then up to participation was 79.16%, attention was 79.16%, enjoyment was 77.77% in cycle II. Finally, the researcher concluded that the implementation of True or False strategy was effective to improve the students writing skill at MTs Ma’arif 03 SudimoroPacitan in the academic year of 2013/2014and the researcher gives suggestion that English teachers should be creative in choosing strategy based on material and the students should practice to use english in daily activities. This study will be useful for the next researcher who will conduct research about the same case in different field of study
