Abstract
School age children are an age group that is prone to nutrition and disease prone, especially infectious diseases.At this age children are more likely to like snack and do not know that these foods contain some additives that can cause various diseases. The purpose of this study was to find out the knowledge of school age children in SDN 1 LembahBabadan District Ponorogo Regency about foods containing additives. The design of this research is descriptive. Population of this study were all grade V and VI students of SDN 1 LembahBabadan DistrictPonorogo Regency totalling 47 students. The sampling technique used total sampling. The sample of this research were all students in grade V and VI of SDN 1 LembahBabadan District Ponorogo Regency totalling 47 students. Data collection uses questionnaires while data analysis techniques use percentages. The results of the research 47 respondents showed 12 respondents or 25.53% had good knowledge, 14 respondents or 29.79% had sufficient knowledge and 21 respondents or 44.68% had less knowledge about foods containing additives. From the results of the research concluded that the level of knowledge of school age children about foods containing additives is not good, therefore it is necessary to socialize about foods containing additives in SDN 1 LembahBabadan District Ponorogo Regency so that students are able to understand foods that contain additives and their dangers to health.
