Key Words: Reading skill, Course Review Hooray Method Based on the data obtained in SMA Muhammadiyah I Ponorogo it was found the problem in teaching reading skill in the tenth grade. The students’ achievement in evaluation process was not satisfying and student’s ability in reading comprehension was lack. Teacher did not use an innovative learning model and the activities are not centered on students learning. Therefore, there is needed for action to improve the reading skill. One’s of them by using Course Review Hooray method. The problem formulation in this research were: 1).Did Course Review Hooray method improved the reading skill in English teaching of the tenth grade at SMA Muhammadiyah I Ponorogo on academic year of 2013/2014?; and 2). How the result of implementation the CRH method was improved the reading skill in English teaching of the tenth grade at SMA Muhammadiyah I Ponorogo on academic year of 2013/2014? The purposes of the study of this research were: 1). To know weather CRH method was able to improve the reading skill in English teaching of the tenth grade at SMA Muhammadiyah I Ponorogo on academic year of 2013/2014?; and 2).To know the result of implementation the CRH method was improved the reading skill in English teaching of the tenth grade at SMA Muhammadiyah I Ponorogo on academic year of 2013/2014. The research was a classroom action research using CRH method. The research was started on July 30th, 2013 until August 22nd, 2013. It was conducted during two cycles, each cycle consisting of four stages including planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Research subject was students of tenth grade Class X-M.S 3 SMA Muhammadiyah I Ponorogo in academic years 2013/2014 with consisted of 23 students. Data collection technique used observation checklist, questionnaire sheet, and test. The result of this research indicated that: the Cycle I the student’s percentage who got the score from the test obtained KKM was 56.5% up to 100% in cycle II. The questionnaire result showed that the students were interested in this technique. It was seen from the total of the questionnaire I was 63.04% in cycle I up to 84.78% in cycle II. The observation check list result showed that the students became active during teaching learning process. It was seen from the total of observation check list was 43.48% in cycle I up to 91.30% in cycle II Therefore, researcher gives suggestion that teacher should be creative in choosing the attractive and fun method, for the students should try to do exercise and forcr themselves to read more, for shool enriches the references about CRH method, and the next researcher should prepare the material well before implementing the method for the better result.
