Abstract
Beritajatim.com is an online media portal in the East Java Province. This media reports on issues or events that occur in various areas in East Java. One of them is the news that happened in Magetan Regency. As a media, news that is displayed in the audience must be enjoyed and there is an important meaning that can reflect a media. So we need an analysis to see these interests. This study focuses on the study of Online Media Independence in the news broadcast by beritajatim.com in the Social, Economic, and Political rubric November 2021 – March 2022. The purpose of this study was to determine the independence of beritajatim.com on news in the Magetan Regency area. This research is a descriptive qualitative research that seeks to describe the object or subject under study based on facts. The data collected was then analyzed using the theory of independence. The results of the study found that the independence that occurred in beritajatim.com had not been fully implemented. Because, this is evidenced by the news that has been analyzed still tends to have more elements of partisanship.
