Meaningful participation means individual participation that is more than just physical presence in an activity. Involves active involvement, collaboration, and strong commitment from individuals to make positive contributions.
This research aims to: 1) determine the practice of students' meaningful participation through extracurriculars at SMAN 3 Ponorogo, 2) to determine the factors that influence students' meaningful participation through extracurriculars at SMAN 3 Ponorogo. This research uses qualitative research methods using interview, observation and documentation research techniques. The focus of this research is to see how meaningful participation practices are seen from four forms of participation opportunities, space, voice, influence and audience through extracurricular activities.
The results of this research are as follows: 1) meaningful participation of students through extracurricular activities at SMAN 3 Ponorogo. Students are given opportunities in three forms, namely space, voice and audience. Opportunities for space through making products and participating in competitions, opportunities for voice in written form, and opportunities for audiences through being active in expressing opinions. 2) Factors influencing students' meaningful participation through extracurricular activities are influenced by the school environment. Suggestions for KIR, Theater and OSIS extracurriculars are to maintain meaningful participation in extracurricular activities and increase participation and influence extracurricular activities at SMAN 3 Ponorogo.
