ABSTRACT
THE INFLUENCE OF MINIMUM WAGE AND EDUCATIONAL LEVEL ON LABOR ABSORPTION IN SOUTH BUTTON DISTRICT, SOUTHEAST SULAWESI TENGGARA

The labor force in South Buton Regency tends to increase from year to year and the workforce absorbed tends to fluctuate which causes the burden of unemployment in South Buton Regency to increase. In 2017-2023 the minimum wage which always increases every year should be an opportunity for job seekers to getting a job and the level of education of the community will determine how much labor is absorbed in an area and reduce unemployment because the higher the level of education, the greater the skills they have as capital for work.
The formulation of the problem in this research includes: Does the minimum wage affect labor in South Buton district, Southeast Sulawesi, does the level of education influence labor in South Buton Regency, Southeast Sulawesi and how does the minimum wage and education level simultaneously influence labor absorption in South Buton Regency, Southeast Sulawesi. The research method used is a quantitative research approach using secondary data. In the 2017-2023 observation period, the data collected was analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis.
The research results state that partially the minimum wage has no positive effect on labor absorption in South Buton Regency and the level of education has a positive and significant effect on labor absorption in South Buton Regency. Meanwhile, simultaneously or in a concurrent test, it was stated that the minimum wage and education level had a significant effect on labor absorption in South Sumatra Province. The R square value is 0.714 or 71.4%, meaning that the dependent variable shows that there is labor absorption which can be explained by the independent variables, namely minimum wage (X1) and education level (X2) and the remaining 71.4% is 28. 6% came from other research.
