Abstract

This research aims to describe the application of space repetition as a strategy to stimulate the speaking abilities of children aged 5-6 years at the Dharma Wanita Kindergarten in Nglandung Madiun village. The method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The stimulating results show that the systematic and structured application of space repetition is able to develop children's speaking abilities, including aspects of pronouncing language units and expressing desires and ideas. The application of space repetition works well in stimulating the speaking abilities of young children in accordance with the space repetition learning steps. In the learning planning stage, the teacher provides explanation and motivation. While studying learning material, the teacher provides instructions, encouragement, and observes children's responses to understand the material. At the stage of remembering learning material, the teacher invites children to retell the material provided. At the stage of creating a comfortable learning atmosphere, the teacher provides a comfortable, conducive and calm learning space. When delivering learning material, the teacher gives children opportunities to convey the material. The child's speaking ability is good, demonstrated through the aspects of pronouncing language units and expressing desires and ideas.
