THE RELATIONSHIP OF KNOWLEDGE AND COMMUNITY BEHAVIOR
IN HEART ATTACK PREVENTION IN THE MLARAK PUBLIC HEALTH
CENTER WORKING AREAS

What is causing the current problem is the public's ignorance about the
factors that cause heart disease, insufficient knowledge will influence a person's
behavior. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between
knowledge and community behavior regarding heart attack prevention at the
Mlarak Community Health Center.
This research design uses a correlation method with a cross-sectional
approach with a population aged 40-60 in Jabung Village, Mlarak District, 38
respondents were taken using a simple random sampling technique. The data was
taken using a modified instrument and had been tested for validity. The statistical
test uses the chi square test to determine the relationship between knowledge and
people's behavior in preventing heart attacks.
The research results showed that there were 12 respondents (70.6%) good
knowledge with positive behavior, 5 respondents had good knowledge with negative
behavior (29.4%), and 3 respondents (14.3%) had poor knowledge with positive
behavior. Poor Knowledge with Negative Behavior As many as 18 Respondents
(85.7%). Data analysis obtained a p-value of 0.000 < α 0.05 with the conclusion
that there is a relationship between knowledge and community behavior in
preventing heart attacks in the Mlarak Health Center Working Area
Based on research, public knowledge of behavior has an important role for
society in preventing heart attacks, so there is a need for further knowledge
regarding the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle so that heart attacks
can be prevented.
