Abstract

This research aims to develop a bird object detection system using Raspberry Pi-based technology and Python programming. The system is designed to detect the presence of birds in a specific area with optimal efficiency. The method used involves image processing using OpenCV, which allows the system to recognize and identify birds from images captured through a webcam. While the system was successful in detecting birds, there were some challenges encountered, such as errors in detecting other objects that can be overlooked if the main goal of bird detection is achieved. The system in this study is able to detect objects at a speed of 1 frame per second with Raspberry Pi 3 Model B hardware. This research also discusses related literature that shows that the use of Internet of Things (IoT) technology can improve the effectiveness of environmental management. The results of this research are expected to contribute to the development of a more efficient and accurate bird control system, and become a reference for further research in the field of technology-based pest control. This research focuses not only on technical aspects, but also on practical applications in keeping the environment clean from bird nuisance, which is an important issue in environmental governance. This research is expected to pave the way for further innovations in the use of technology for environmental management with sustainable methods.
