Abstract

In this 21st-century era, every individual is expected to have mastery of four 21st-century skills called the 4Cs. In an educational environment, 4C skills can be developed and acquired in various ways, including through academic and non-academic fields. One way that can be done to develop 4C skills is through entrepreneurship education programs. The purpose of this study are to find out the form of entrepreneurship program in English education department, to describe whether entrepreneurship education can develop 4c’s skills, and to explain the supporting and inhibiting factors in entrepreneurship programs in English education department.
This study used a qualitative descriptive approach, using structured interviews and Likert scale questionnaires for data collection. With a total respondent of 41 students who filled out the questionnaire and the interview was a total of 9 students who were interviewed.
Based on the results of the study, researchers found that the entrepreneurship program taken in the course can build and develop students' 4C skills, namely communication, critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity. The percentage of students' 4C skills is 74.70% for communication skills, 77.06% for collaboration skills, 72.89% for critical thinking skills, and 72.97% for creativity skills. The percentage results show that through entrepreneurial activities, students are competent in the 4C’s skills needed in the 21st century.
It can be concluded that the entrepreneurship program at the English Education Study Program of Muhammadiyah Ponorogo University can develop 4C skills (Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, and Creativity) in students. Future researchers encouraged to develop methodologies and increase the population, focusing on the factors that inhibit the development of 4C skills through entrepreneurship programs.
