ABSTRACT
Syaifudin, Tahfidz Programme in Elementary School 21st Century Skills, Popular Islamic Culture, and Identity Search in the Era of Disruption (Phenomenological Study in SD Muhammadiyah 1 Mantingan Ngawi)
This research examines the implementation of the tahfidz programme at SD Muhammadiyah 1 Mantingan Ngawi in the context of 21st century skills, popular Islamic culture, and the phenomenon of identity search in the era of disruption. The purpose of this study is to analyse how the tahfidz program can contribute to students' character building and skills development relevant to the challenges of modern times. This research uses a qualitative approach with phenomenological methods to understand the experience and meaning of the tahfidz programme for all school stakeholders. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The research subjects included the principal, tahfidz teachers, students, and parents of students at SD Muhammadiyah 1 Mantingan Ngawi. The results show that the tahfidz programme not only focuses on memorising the Qur'an, but is also integrated with the development of 21st century skills such as critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration. The programme also plays a role in shaping a moderate Islamic identity in the midst of popular culture and technological disruption. The implementation of the tahfidz programme in this school shows an adaptation to modern learning methods while still maintaining fundamental Islamic values. This study found that the tahfidz programme is able to bridge the gap between traditional Islamic education and the demands of modernity, as well as become a forum for the formation of an adaptive Muslim identity to the changing times. The findings provide theoretical and practical contributions to the development of tahfidz programmes in primary schools in the context of 21st century education.
