Abstract

Attendance is one of the essential activities in various institutions, such as schools, universities, and companies, to accurately and efficiently record individual presence. However, conventional attendance methods often face issues such as data manipulation, time inaccuracy, and vulnerability to forgery. This research was conducted at MI Aisiyah Kertosono and aims to design a QR Code-based attendance system equipped with data security using the RSA (Rivest-Shamir-Adleman) algorithm. The system allows users to scan a unique QR Code generated in real-time, which is then encrypted using RSA to ensure the authenticity and confidentiality of attendance data. This method not only improves the efficiency of the attendance process but also provides protection against potential security threats.The system's effectiveness was tested using the Blackbox method. The QR Code trial feature ensures that the system can read valid QR Codes and display student information, while invalid QR Codes generate an error message. The test results show that this system is effective in recording attendance through a web-based attendance application and has the potential to be implemented at MI Aisiyah Kertosono.
