Abstract

One of the symptoms of asthma is shortness of breath, heavy breathing and narrowing of the airways, which inhibits oxygen transport and results in inadequate oxygen supply. One method used to overcome this is implementing buteyko exercises. The Buteyko technique is a non-pharmacological treatment. The aim of this research is to provide nursing care to asthma patients with ineffective breathing pattern nursing problems
Nursing care is carried out in the Guide Room at RSUD dr. Sayidiman Magetan starts on 20-24 August 2024 with a nursing process approach method including assessment, determining nursing diagnoses and interventions, implementation and evaluation of nursing.
The results of the study obtained subjective data, namely that the patient Mrs. S, aged 50 years, was taken to Dr. Sayidiman Magetan Regional Hospital with complaints of shortness of breath, heavy breathing, accompanied by coughing. TTV examination results, BP 123/78 mmHg, respiration 24 x/minute, pulse 101 x/minute, temperature 36.7°C, SpO2 93% airroom. The nursing action taken is by doing buteyko breathing exercises. This action is carried out for 5 days and is effective in helping to improve breathing patterns, characterized by reduced shortness of breath and improved oxygen saturation
Nursing care for asthma patients with ineffective breathing pattern nursing problems is expected to provide an illustration for patients and families about the importance of non-pharmacological management, one of which is Buteyko breathing exercises for patients to improve breathing patterns.
