APPLICATION OF FOOT MASSAGE WITH OLIVE OIL ON MOTHERS POST OP SC WITH NURSING PROBLEMS OF ACUTE PAIN

A cesarean section is a surgical procedure to deliver a baby through an incision in the abdominal wall and uterus. Foot massage using olive oil is a non-pharmacological method to reduce postoperative pain. This case study analyzes the effectiveness of this therapy in reducing pain intensity in post-cesarean section mothers with acute pain complaints at Muhammadiyah General Hospital, Ponorogo.
This study uses a descriptive method with a nursing process approach for post-cesarean section patients experiencing acute pain. Nursing care includes assessment, diagnosis, intervention planning, implementation, and evaluation, conducted over five days from November 1 to November 5, 2024. The intervention given was in the form of applying foot massage with olive oil to reduce pain in post-Cesarean section mothers. The application of foot massage lasted for 5 days and was carried out twice a day. From the nursing process, it was found that after foot massage with olive oil for 5 days, the pain felt by the client gradually decreased, this can be seen from subjective data such as the client saying the pain had decreased/improved, pain scale 1.
Nursing care for post-op SC clients with acute pain nursing problems is expected to be a picture for clients with post-op SC so that they can apply foot massage with olive oil independently when the pain arises.
