APPLICATION OF GUIDED IMAGERY THERAPY IN HEART PATIENTS (IMA) WITH ACUTE PAIN NURSING PROBLEMS IN THE ICU ROOM OF AMAL SEHAT HOSPITAL WONOGIRI

Acute Myocardial Infarction is a disruption in blood flow to the heart which causes heart muscle cells to experience hypoxia. Narrowing of one or more coronary arteries which causes ischemia and infarction and results in heart muscle necrosis can cause pain. The pain commonly felt by sufferers in AMI patients is chest pain which sometimes spreads to other parts of the chest. Guided imagery is a nursing intervention that guides a person's mind to imagine pleasant things that they like so that something positive is achieved. This case study aims to provide nursing care for myocardial infarction patients with acute pain nursing problems.
The application of Guided Imagery Therapy to Myocardial Infarction patients was carried out at Amal Sehat Wonogiri Hospital for 5 days in September 2024. The data collection methods used were interviews, observation and documentation, using a nursing care format.
The results of the assessment obtained from myocardial infarction patients were acute pain nursing problems. The intervention was carried out for 5 days. The medical action taken to overcome the problem is guided imagery therapy. The results of the evaluation of myocardial infarction patients with acute pain nursing problems were resolved, the pain scale was 7 down to 0.
It is hoped that the implementation of Guided Imagery Therapy in Myocardial Infarction patients with acute pain nursing problems can be applied by nurses, especially in treating myocardial infarction patients using guided imagery therapy.
