Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of participatory communication in the Sekolah Orang Tua Hebat (SOTH) program in Bangunrejo Village, Ponorogo Regency. This program is an initiative by BKKBN aimed at improving the quality of parenting to reduce stunting rates and build strong, quality families. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings show that the SOTH program in Bangunrejo Village applies participatory communication thoroughly in every stage of its activities, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The concept of participatory communication is reflected through the principles of dialogue, heteroglossia, polyphony, and carnival. The program participants consist of mothers of toddlers and breastfeeding mothers with diverse age and educational backgrounds, creating a discussion space rich in perspectives. This diversity is not an obstacle but rather enhances the participatory learning process. Although challenges such as differences in material comprehension and parenting experience exist, adaptive communication approaches successfully created an effective learning environment.
