Abstract

The midwifery care provided to Mrs. T has included services during pregnancy, intrapartum, postpartum, newborn care, family planning, and women's reproductive health. In this context, continuity of care is implemented by providing continuous services from pregnancy to the selection of contraceptives.
During the first ANC visit at 37 weeks of pregnancy, she had undergone regular prenatal examinations six times. On July 14, 2024, at 4:10 AM, Mrs. T came to the clinic complaining of premature rupture of membranes (PROM). An internal examination confirmed the rupture of membranes. After waiting, the mother was referred to a private hospital in Ponorogo District. During the delivery process, the baby was declared deceased with a birth weight of 2730 grams, a head circumference of 48 cm, male gender, and an Apgar score of blue throughout the body, not crying. Postpartum, three postpartum visits were conducted to provide psychosocial support to Mrs. T by listening to her grief with full attention, without judgment or blame, to aid in her emotional recovery. In addition, family planning counseling was provided, and Mrs. T chose to use monthly injectable contraception, which she had previously used for four years after giving birth to her first child. An evaluation of the care provided showed that Mrs. T received comprehensive and continuous services in accordance with the principle of continuity of care. The management of KPD was carried out appropriately, referrals were made in accordance with procedures, and psychosocial support was provided to aid in emotional recovery following the loss. Mrs. T's choice of the one-month injectable contraceptive aligns with her previous usage history and her current health condition.
In conclusion, the midwifery care provided to Mrs. T covered all aspects of care from pregnancy to contraceptive selection, in accordance with the principle of continuity of care. The care provided was in line with midwifery care standards and Mrs. T's needs. It is hoped that healthcare providers will continue to provide continuous care and support the physical and emotional well-being of clients. Recommendations for Mrs. T include continuing the use of contraception in accordance with her choice and needs, and undergoing regular health check-ups to ensure her well-being.
