Abstract

Retno Ayuning Tyas Suyadi. The Contribution of Teachers’ Emotional
Intelligence to the Creation of a Positive and Productive Learning Environment
for Students at SDN 1 Dayakan. Undergraduate Thesis. Civic Education Study
Program, Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo. Supervisor 1: Dr. Hadi

This study aims to analyze the contribution of teachers' emotional
intelligence to the creation of a positive and productive learning environment at
SD Negeri 1 Dayakan, Ponorogo. A positive and productive learning environment
is strongly influenced by the quality of teacher-student interactions, including the
teacher's ability to manage emotions appropriately. The background of this study
lies in the need to understand the extent to which teachers' emotional intelligence
contributes to forming a learning atmosphere that supports students’ academic and
emotional development, particularly at SD Negeri 1 Dayakan, Ponorogo.
This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection
techniques include interviews with the principal and all homeroom teachers,
observation of the learning process, and documentation of school activities. The
data were analyzed using the interactive model by Miles and Huberman,
consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing.
Research results show that teachers' emotional intelligence, which
encompasses self-awareness, emotional management, empathy, self-motivation,
and social skills, plays a significant role in creating a positive and productive
learning environment. The impact of teachers' emotional intelligence on creating a
positive and productive environment is that it creates a holistic, harmonious
learning climate that is oriented toward the overall development of students.
