Hyperthermia is one of the most common signs found in patients with Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF). In nursing practice, handling this condition requires independent nurse initiative as well as collaboration with other medical personnel to prevent the risk of complications due to increased body temperature. This case study aims to describe how the nursing care process is carried out on DHF patients who experience hyperthermia
The implementation of nursing care was carried out at the Muhammadiyah Ponorogo Hospital for three days in April 2025. The nursing process was applied as an approach in implementing this activity.
The results of the assessment showed that the patient experienced an increase in body temperature above the normal limit, reaching 37.7°C, which indicated hyperthermia. Nursing interventions provided to overcome this problem in patient An. V include the implementation of adjusted hyperthermia management.
It is hoped that nursing care for children with DHF experiencing hyperthermia can be a reference or guide for nursing staff in handling similar conditions, through the implementation of appropriate hyperthermia management and improving communication skills and approaches to patients.
