Abstract

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN WORKLOADS WITH
NURSE PERFORMANCE OF INPATIENT ROOM
AT RUMAH SAKIT ISLAM SITI AISYAH
MADIUN

Nurse performance is a key factor in determining the quality of nursing services in hospitals, particularly in inpatient wards, which have a high workload and diverse case complexity. Nurses are required to consistently maintain and improve their nursing care performance because it impacts patient safety and overall care outcomes. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between workload and the performance of inpatient nurses at Siti Aisyah Islamic Hospital in Madiun.
The research method used a descriptive correlation approach with a cross-sectional approach. This study involved 52 respondents from eight wards and was selected using proportional random sampling. The research instrument used a questionnaire to measure the workload and performance of inpatient nurses. Data analysis used SPSS computerized statistical testing with Spearman's rank correlation test and a significance level of 0.05.
The results showed that the majority of inpatient nurses at Siti Aisyah Islamic Hospital, Madiun, had a moderate workload (27 nurses (51.9%), while the majority of nurses' performance was in the adequate category (35 nurses (67.3%). A p-value of 0.000 < 0.05, and a positive correlation coefficient of 0.711, indicate a significant relationship between workload and inpatient nurse performance.
Positive correlations need to be monitored and addressed as early as possible. Workload evaluations, more proportional and equitable task allocation, and the provision of additional rewards such as performance incentives, workload allowances, or non-financial rewards are expected to further motivate nurses to maintain and even improve their performance.
