EMERGENCY NURSING CARE FOR PATIENTS WITH FEMUR
FRACTURE WITH ACUTE PAIN NURSING PROBLEMS
(In the Emergency Room of Dr. Hardjono Regional Hospital, Ponorogo

A femoral fracture is a condition where the continuity of the thigh bone is lost
due to direct trauma or pathological factors, which often causes soft tissue damage
and triggers severe pain. Acute pain in femoral fractures can impact the patient's
physical and psychological function, requiring appropriate emergency treatment.
This study aims to describe emergency care for femoral fracture patients with acute
pain problems in the Emergency Department of Dr. Harjono Ponorogo.
Regional Hospital. The research method used is a case study with a surgical
process approach, including primary and secondary data assessment, surgical
diagnosis determination, intervention planning, procedure implementation, and
surgical evaluation carried out over three days.
The results of the case study indicate that the administration of pharmacological
interventions such as analgesics and non-pharmacological interventions such as
distraction techniques, relaxation, and environmental management effectively
reduced pain intensity from severe to mild. Patients also experienced improved
comfort, quality of rest, and mobility ability.
The discussion shows that a comprehensive and individualized pain
management approach can support patient recovery and prevent further
complications, such as hypovolemic shock or impaired tissue perfusion.
This research is expected to be a reference for medical personnel in
implementing emergency care for femoral fracture patients with acute pain, so that
health services are more optimal and centered on patient needs.
