Abstract

In Indonesia, Islamic education plays a central role in shaping the character
and ethics of society. Islamic boarding schools, as traditional Islamic educational
institutions, have long played a role in producing generations with noble character,
high moral values, and integrity. One Islamic boarding school that has long been
dedicated to implementing the values of Islamic education is the Al-Iman Islamic
Boarding School in Ponorogo. This boarding school not only teaches religious
knowledge but also cultivates a strong entrepreneurial spirit to help students
become more independent in their journey toward maturity.
This study uses a case study method with a qualitative approach, which
involves collecting data through interviews with the leadership secretary and
management, including students, direct observation of entrepreneurial production
activities and their implementation, and documentation in the form of images and
documents related to the focus of the study. The data analysis method in this study
follows the steps outlined by Miles and Huberman, including data reduction, data
presentation, and drawing conclusions to find the best results. The results of this study are as follows: (1) The implementation of
entrepreneurship education in improving the independence of santri consists of (a)
theory, namely the provision of in-depth material as a basis for santri
entrepreneurship and good business management. The activities include field trips
or study visits, training from mentors, and entrepreneurship seminars. (b) Practice,
which involves the direct application of the material learned using the facilities
provided to support the independence of students through entrepreneurship. Some
of the activities include bread production, product packaging, and distribution by
the students, enabling them to experience entrepreneurial independence under the
guidance of the boarding school. (2) Some challenges faced by the boarding school
in implementing this entrepreneurship education program include (a) students'
reluctance to fulfill their assigned responsibilities and the diverse backgrounds of
the students, but this can be minimized by the boarding school staff through an
approach focused on the students, (b) distribution and collaboration to expand the
scope of the boarding school's entrepreneurship activities, which is hindered by the
boarding school's policies but continues to be pursued and reviewed to enable
students to broaden their understanding of entrepreneurial independence.
