“NURSING CARE FOR PEDIATRIC PATIENTS WITH
GASTROENTERITIS WITH NURSING PROBLEMS OF SKIN INTERGRITY DISORDERS”

Gastroenteritis is a common cause of diarrhea in patients, especially children, which can lead to complications such as diaper rash. Diaper rash occurs due to skin contact with feces and urine. Impaired skin integrity causes irritation, redness, and inflammation. This study aims to examine and understand in-depth nursing care for pediatric patients with gastroenteritis and impaired skin integrity.x
This research method uses a case study approach with a single case of a child with gastroenteritis as the analysis. Data were collected through the nursing process using data collection instruments using the nursing care format, establishing nursing diagnoses using the SDKI, nursing interventions using the SIKI and SLKI, and evaluation. This research was conducted at Darmayu General Hospital, Ponorogo, from August 18-20, 2025.
Planning and implementation are adjusted based on the client's needs, with the resulting evaluation being increased elasticity, increased hydration, increased tissue perfusion, decreased pain, decreased redness, improved skin temperature, improved sensation, and improved texture. The diagnosis was resolved within 3 days of treatment, with the intervention I performed using pharmacological techniques, namely the use of olive oil or a special lotion on diaper rash. Nursing actions to address the problem include skin integrity care, resulting in an assessment of skin integrity disorders in An. P. resolved.
