Abstract
ABSTRACT
Islamic education places the activity of memorising the Qur'an as an
important means of shaping character and developing children's linguistic
intelligence. Tahfidz activities are not only oriented towards spiritual aspects, but are also believed to contribute to the cognitive, emotional, and spiritual
abilities of students. This study aims to analyse the influence of the intensity of
memorising the Qur'an and children's linguistic intelligence on the quality of
Qur'an recitation at Rumah Qur'an Al-Muyassar Makassar. The research
questions include: (1) how the intensity of memorisation and the level of
children's linguistic intelligence affect the quality of students' recitation, and (3)
whether there is a significant influence between the intensity of memorisation
and children's linguistic intelligence on the quality of recitation. The research method used a quantitative approach with an associative
research type. The population consisted of 81 students, while the sample was
determined to be 39 respondents. Data were collected through a questionnaire
that had been tested for validity and reliability, then analysed using multiple
linear regression tests. The results of the study indicate that simultaneously the intensity of
memorizing the Qur’an and children's linguistic intelligence have a significant
effect on the quality of Al-Qur'an recitation with a coefficient of determination
of 83%, while 17% is influenced by other factors outside the model. Partially, the variable of memorization intensity of the Qur’an (p=0,049) and children's
intelligence (0,000) were proven to have a significant effect on the quality of
Qur’anic recitation. These findings indicate that both the intensity of
memorization and children’s linguistic intelligence contribute to the quality of
recitation. However, children's intelligence has a more dominant influence
compared to the intensity of memorizing the Qur'an. This study implies that
tahfidz (Qur’an memorization) programs need to be integrated with strategies
for developing children’s linguistic intelligence and increasing the intensity of
memorization so that the quality of Qur’anic reaction can improve optimally. Keywords: Al-Qur'an Memorisation Intensity, Children's Linguistic
