Abstract

Non-hemorrhagic stroke is defined as a sudden brain attack that causes loss of function due to disruption of blood supply to part of the brain. This ischemia occurs due to obstruction or clots. Stroke is a neurological disease that can cause loss of motor function in sufferers, resulting in weakness (hemiparesis). This study aims to determine the application of Range of Motion (ROM) Therapy with Grasp Strategies in non-hemorrhagic stroke patients with nursing problems of physical mobility impairment.
Nursing care for these patients was provided in the Khadijah Room at Amal Sehat Hospital, Wonogiri, for 5 days, from October 20, 2025, to October 24, 2025. The nursing process approach was used as a method. The assessment revealed that the patient complained of weakness in his right hand and right leg and an inability to grip. Nursing interventions were performed to improve grip strength by providing Range of Motion (ROM) Grasp Strategies exercises. After 5 days of training, grip strength improved, from a score of 7 to a score of 9.
Nursing care for patients with impaired physical mobility is expected to provide guidance for non-hemorrhagic stroke patients so they can independently implement Range of Motion (ROM) exercises with Grasp Strategies or grip exercises to improve grip strength.
