Acute pain after surgical procedures due to antebrachii fractures is a major nursing problem that must be addressed. Pain management is handled through pain management techniques using pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches. One non-pharmacological approach that can help relieve acute pain is the lavender aromatherapy technique. The purpose of this study is to reduce the patient’s pain level.
The research design used is a case study with a nursing process approach consisting of assessment, diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and evaluation, with the subject being one patient with the problem of acute pain and a medical diagnosis of Post ORIF Antebrachii Fracture. The study was conducted in the Umar Bin Abdul Aziz Room at Amal Sehat Hospital Wonogiri from October 24–28, 2025.
The results of the case study conducted on a postoperative antebrachii fracture patient with the problem of acute pain showed a significant decrease in the pain scale after lavender aromatherapy was administered for a period of 5 days, twice a day, within a time range of 3–4 hours after the administration of a 1 ampoule ketorolac injection. The evaluation results showed that the client reported reduced pain, the pain scale decreased from scale 6 to scale 2, appeared relaxed, pulse frequency was 64 times/minute, and the patient was able to sleep.
The application of lavender aromatherapy has proven effective in reducing the patient’s pain scale. The results of this innovation are expected to become one of the references for acute pain management innovation using lavender aromatherapy, where this aromatherapy can be applied anywhere and at any time.
