Caesarean Section (CS) is a procedure in the birthing process to deliver
the baby through an incision in the abdominal wall and uterus. After the mother
has completed the Caesarean Section operation, various nursing problems will
arise, one of which is acute pain. In accordance with the Indonesian Nursing
Intervention Standards, warm compresses (hotpacks) are one of the leading non-pharmacological interventions to relieve acute pain.
The purpose of writing this case study is to analyze the effect of warm
compress therapy (hotpacks) in reducing post-cesarean pain with acute pain
nursing problems.
The method used in this case study is descriptive research that includes
assessment, planning, implementation, intervention and evaluation of nursing,
involving Mrs. W with the sample criteria of post- CS patients after 12 hours with
acute pain nursing problems. The intervention to be carried out is with the non-pharmacological technique of warm compresses (hotpacks).
The results of the assessment to Mrs. W with acute pain nursing
problems, and given warm compress (hotpack) technique intervention once a day
with a duration of 15-20 minutes, for 5 days, showed that the problem was
partially resolved, indicated by the patient experiencing pain with a scale of 5 on
the first day after surgery. After administering analgesics and applying hot packs
for five days, there was a decrease in pain scale 2, the patient appeared more
comfortable. It can be concluded that after implementing direct nursing care for
Mrs. W with acute pain nursing problems related to physical injury agents, in the
Masithah room of RSU'Aisyiyah Ponorogo for 5 days from November 19, 2025 to
November 23, 2025, with the warm compress technique (hot pack) can help in
reducing acute pain in post-CS surgery patients, as well as can increase patient
comfort and support the healing process.
