This study aims to analyze the relationship between gadget addiction and emotional regulation among students at the Faculty of Islamic Studies, Ponorogo University. The increasing intensity of smartphone use among students raises concerns about its psychological impact, particularly on emotional management. This study used a quantitative approach with correlational methods. The sample consisted of 107 students selected based on specific criteria: active students who used gadgets for at least four hours per day. The instruments used were the Smartphone Addiction Scale (SAS) and the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ). The analysis showed that gadget addiction levels were 28 and 55, with a mean of 43.23 and a standard deviation of 5.882. Meanwhile, emotional regulation had a minimum score of 14 and a maximum of 33, with a mean of 25.20 and a standard deviation of 4.172. The Pearson Product Moment correlation test showed a correlation coefficient of 0.716 with a significance value of 0.000 (p > 0.05). Furthermore, the Spearman's rho test showed a coefficient value of 0.720 with a significance level of 0.000. These results indicate a strong and significant relationship between gadget addiction and emotional regulation. The positive direction of the relationship indicates that increasing gadget addiction scores are followed by increasing emotional regulation difficulties scores. Therefore, strategies to control gadget use are needed to maintain students' psychological health.
