The management of Field Work Practices (PKL) at SMK Pemkab Ponorogo faces challenges regarding the student placement process, which is currently handled manually; this creates a potential mismatch between student competencies and the requirements of the business and industrial sectors (DUDI). This study aims to develop a web-based information system utilizing the Content-Based Filtering method and the Cosine Similarity algorithm to provide PKL placement recommendations based on students' majors, skills, and places of residence. The system was developed using the Laravel framework, the PHP programming language, and a MySQL database. Testing was conducted through Black Box Testing, validation of the Cosine Similarity algorithm, and a usability evaluation using a Likert scale questionnaire. The results indicate that the system successfully generates PKL placement recommendations based on the degree of similarity between student profiles and available placement opportunities, thereby supporting the student placement process at SMK Pemkab Ponorogo..
