Schizophrenia is a chronic mental disorder that can lead to various nursing problems, one of which is the risk for violent behavior. This case study aims to describe the implementation of nursing care for a patient with schizophrenia facing this nursing problem. The method used was a case study approach based on the nursing process, conducted from February 26 to 28, 2026 at Dr. Arif Zainudin Psychiatric Hospital, Surakarta. Data were collected through interviews, observation, mental status examination, and documentation. The assessment revealed that the patient had a history of excessive anger, verbal threats, destroying objects when angry, irritability, and noncompliance with medication. The nursing diagnosis established was risk for violent behavior. Interventions included monitoring potentially dangerous objects, assertive communication training, deep-breathing relaxation exercises, practice of hitting a pillow to safely channel anger, and education on medication adherence. Evaluation results demonstrated improved self-control, with average scores increasing from 2.8 at the first evaluation to 3.6 at the second and reaching 5 at the third evaluation, indicating that the nursing problem was resolved. It is concluded that the stepwise nursing care was effective in helping the patient control emotions and prevent aggressive behavior moving forward.
