This study focuses on the construction of discourse surrounding the call to boycott Trans 7 on the Instagram gossip account @lambe_turah, specifically examining the audience's social context within the comment sections and the influence of Indonesia's digital cultural landscape and religious sensitivities. The issue was triggered by the broadcast of the program "Xpose Uncensored" on Trans 7, which was perceived as insulting to *pesantren* (Islamic boarding schools), sparking a massive public reaction via the hashtag #BoikotTrans7. A qualitative approach utilizing a descriptive method was employed for this research. The study utilizes Teun A. Van Dijk’s Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) framework; primary data were gathered from a post by @lambe_turah on October 14, 2025, and the accompanying netizen comments, while secondary data were sourced from scholarly literature, online news reports, and social media statistics. Data collection involved digital documentation and non-participatory observation, with validity verified through source and methodological triangulation. Field findings indicate that @lambe_turah actively framed the issue—using visual manipulation, specific caption wording, and the highlighting of controversial elements—to steer public opinion. The resulting audience social cognition led to a collective response comprising both condemnation and support for the boycott, driven by religious sensitivities. Furthermore, the socio-digital characteristics of Indonesian society and Instagram’s high-engagement-oriented algorithms were shown to accelerate the discourse's viral escalation into a tangible digital social movement.
