PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN 'LINEQUEST' MENGGUNAKAN SMART APPS CREATOR UNTUK SISWA SMP PADA MATERI PERSAMAAN GARIS LURUS

The problem at Ponorogo State Junior High School 3 is that students still often have difficulty determining the slope (gradient) of a line, finding the y-intercept, graphing equations, and relating graphs to their algebraic equations, due to a lack of understanding of the concepts. The use of interactive learning media is a solution because it can visualize concepts. This study aims to develop a mathematics learning tool called “LineQuest” for the topic of linear equations that meets the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness.
This study is a research and development (R&D) project. The model used in this study is the ADDIE development model, which consists of the following stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research subjects were eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 3 Ponorogo. Data collection techniques included a validation questionnaire, student and teacher response questionnaires, and pretests and posttests. The data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods to determine the validity and practicality of the instructional media, while the effectiveness of the media was analyzed using a normality test, a paired-sample t-test, and N-Gain score calculations.
The research began by analyzing problems that arose in schools, designing instructional materials, creating the materials, pilot-testing the developed materials, and evaluating the activities. The results of the pilot test conducted by the researcher revealed the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the instructional materials. The validation results from the subject-matter expert were 89%, falling into the highly valid category, while those from the instructional media expert were 61%, falling into the valid category. Furthermore, regarding the practicality of the teaching materials, the student response questionnaire yielded a score of 83%, falling into the practical category, while the teacher response questionnaire yielded a score of 98%, falling into the highly practical category. Meanwhile, the data on effectiveness indicate that the instructional material effectively enhances students’ conceptual understanding, as evidenced by a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores, with an N-Gain score of 0.71, which falls into the high category. Thus, the instructional material developed is suitable for use as an alternative teaching tool for the topic of linear equations.
