APPLICATION OF CARROT JUICE ADMINISTRATION FOR POSTPARTUM MOTHERS WITH THE NURSING DIAGNOSIS OF INEFFECTIVE BREASTFEEDING

Postpartum is a condition in which a mother who has just given birth needs to pay attention to breastfeeding. One obstacle to breastfeeding is insufficient breast milk production, which can affect exclusive breastfeeding and the baby's growth and development. One approach to improving production is to administer carrot juice, known as a galactagogue.
Objective: To implement the administration of carrot juice to postpartum mothers experiencing the nursing diagnosis of Ineffective Breastfeeding; the intervention was carried out in two settings—during hospitalization and at home—with carrot juice administered once daily.
Assessment Results on April 6, 2026 Mrs. S said she complained that her breast milk was coming out a little and not smoothly. The nursing diagnosis was found in Mrs. S with Ineffective Breastfeeding related to inadequate breast milk supply. Implementation by providing health education materials and media Giving Carrot Juice for Smooth Breast Milk Production. Evaluation The patient said that for 6 days there was an increase in breast milk production. The output was 30ml.
Conclusion: Administering carrot juice to postpartum mothers for six days can increase breast milk production and facilitate the breastfeeding process.
