HUBUNGAN BIMBINGAN ORANG TUA DENGAN PERILAKU PERAWATAN GENETALIA SAAT MENSTRUASI PADA SISWI SD Di Wilayah Kerja Pukesmas Sukosari Kecamatan Babadan Kabupaten Ponorogo

Genital hygiene behavior during menstruation is important for maintaining reproductive health among girls. Inappropriate hygiene practices may increase the risk of reproductive tract infections. One factor that may influence this behavior is parental guidance through the provision of information, assistance, and support. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between parental guidance and genital hygiene behavior during menstruation among elementary school girls in the working area of Sukosari Community Health Center, Babadan District, Ponorogo Regency.
This study used a quantitative analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of all elementary school girls who had experienced menstruation at SDN 2 Trisono, SDN 3 Trisono, and SDN 3 Sukosari, totaling 39 students. The sample consisted of 39 respondents selected using the total sampling technique. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using the Spearman Rank test with a significance level of α = 0.05.
The results showed that 61.5% of respondents received good parental guidance and 69.2% demonstrated good genital hygiene behavior. The Spearman Rank test showed a correlation coefficient of r = 0.491 and p = 0.002 (p<0.05), indicating a significant positive relationship with moderate strength. Better parental guidance was associated with better genital hygiene behavior during menstruation.
The study concluded that there was a significant relationship between parental guidance and genital hygiene behavior during menstruation among elementary school girls
