Abstract
Food security status is one factor influencing family well-being and is thought to be related to social support. This study aims to analyze the relationship between food security status and social support in families receiving Free Nutritional Meals (MBG) at SMK Sore 1 Ponorogo.
This study used a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. A sample of 110 respondents was selected using stratified random sampling. Data were collected using the Household Food Insecurity Access Scale (HFIAS) and Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) questionnaires, then analyzed using the Pearson Chi-Square test.
The results showed that most respondents experienced mild food insecurity (29.1%) and had moderate social support (40.0%). The Pearson Chi-Square test indicated a significant relationship between food security status and social support (χ² = 40.200; p < 0.001).
The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant relationship between food security status and social support in families receiving Free Nutritional Meals at SMK Sore 1 Ponorogo. Strengthening social support is expected to support increasing family food security.
